ECHA accounts and EU Login
If you use ECHA’s tools, such as REACH-IT, R4BP 3, ePIC, ECHA Submisssion portal or ECHA Cloud Services, or you need to download certain files from ECHAs websites, you need an ECHA account. Having an ECHA account also allows you to subscribe to notifications, for example on a certain substance you are interested in.
Industry user accounts and personal accounts are created on login page. ECHA provides authority users their account.
New users who are participating in the work of committees; expert-, interest- or working groups etc. and who do not have an ECHA account, will be invited to create and use an EU Login account, if they don't have one already.
If you already have an ECHA account, to sign in use the option ‘Login with ECHA Account’. If you have been invited to create an EU Login account use the ‘Login with EU Login’ option.
Users with ECHA accounts and EU Login accounts can become members of Entrusted Bodies (EB) when they get specific user roles related to the EB. Entrusted Bodies are formal or informal ECHA bodies in which participating members work together for the objectives in ECHA’s legislative scope.
Entrusted Bodies are
- ECHA Committees (BPC, RAC, SEAC, MSC), Enforcement Forum (Forum) and their working groups
- BPR Subgroup of the Forum (BPRS) and its working groups
- Endocrine Disruptor and PBT Expert Groups
- interest groups of CLH, Screening, SVHC, Substance or Dossier Evaluation and CoRAP
- Risk Management and Evaluation Platform (RiME+)
Authority account
This account type is for users from Member State competent authorities (MSCAs) designated national authorities (DNAs) and national enforcement authorities (NEAs).
MSCA users need an ECHA account to access ECHA’s IT tools, such as IUCLID, REACH-IT, R4BP or ePIC to carry out their tasks. NEAs need to access, for example Interact Portal and ePIC to perform their tasks as inspectors or focal points.
These users need an ECHA account which cannot be replaced by the EU Login.
How to get this type of account
ECHA creates all authority accounts together with the delegated user administrators in each EU Member State. The accounts can only be created after the authority has been officially nominated and is confirmed to meet ECHA’s security requirements.
The Unified Login Manual includes instructions for how to log in using an authority account. For further help use the Authority contact form on ECHA’s website.
Industry account
This account type is for company legal entities and their users when, for example, they access ECHA’s IT tools to prepare and submit data using REACH-IT, R4BP 3 and ePIC.
How to create this type of account
Industry users can create an ECHA account from the basic login page. Industry accounts must always be linked to a specific industry legal entity. Detailed instructions on how to create the account are found in ECHA Accounts Manual, section 3: How to sign-up for the first time. The same manual includes instructions on how to administer the users of a legal entity.
The first contact point for industry account users is the legal entity manager of the company. The legal entity manager can use ECHA contact forms if they have further questions.
Committee account
Users who take part in committee work or are members of committee-, interest-, expert- or working groups need a committee account to use Interact Toolbox and Interact Portal to carry out their tasks.
New users in this category may be invited to use an EU login account.
How to get this type of account
ECHA’s committee secretaries create committee accounts and provide the account details to committee users.
The Unified Login Manual includes instructions for how to log in using a committee account. If further help is needed, use the Authority contact form on ECHA’s website.
Personal account
This type of account is for individual users, not directly related to, for example, a company. The account can be used to sign into ECHA’s websites and view, for example, substance-specific information that the user has subscribed to.
How to create this type of account
A personal account can be created by clicking on the “sign in” link at the top-right corner of ECHA’s homepage. A personal account can be transferred to an industry account when a personal account creates a legal entity or is added as user to an existing one.
The ECHA Accounts Manual includes instructions for how to log in using a personal account.
