Consolidated version of the CLP Regulation
The consolidated version of the Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 on the classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP Regulation) incorporates all of the amendments and corrigenda to the CLP Regulation until the date marked in the first page of the regulation. The consolidated version does not include recitals. The recitals can be found in the CLP initial text below. This text has been produced for documentary purposes and the European Chemicals Agency does not assume any liability for its content. Furthermore, the text has no legal value. For legal purposes please refer to the texts published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
The most recent consolidated version includes the adaptations to technical progress up to the 16th ATP, but does not yet incorporate Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2020/1182 of 19 May 2020 (15th ATP) as this update applies from 1 March 2022 nor Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/849 of 11 March 2021 (17th ATP) as this update applies from 17 December 2022 (for the 15th and 17th ATP, see “Amendments, not included in the consolidated version”).
The harmonised classification and labelling for certain hazardous substances as set out in Tables 3.1 and 3.2 of Annex VI is also made available in the C&L Inventory.
Amendments (not included in the consolidated version)
The harmonised classification and labelling of hazardous substances is updated through an "Adaptation to Technical Progress (ATP)" adopted yearly by the European Commission, following the opinion of the Committee for Risk Assessment (RAC). Other changes to the legal text may also be implemented through an ATP.
Fifteenth Adaptation to Technical Progress to CLP Regulation
The 15th ATP amends Annex VI of CLP Regulation.
It was published in the EU Official Journal on 11 August 2020 and entered into force 20 days after its publication. The changes will apply from 1 March 2022, but may be voluntarily applied before 1 March 2022.
Seventeenth Adaptation to Technical Progress to CLP Regulation
The 17th ATP amends Annex VI of CLP Regulation.
It was published in the EU Official Journal on 28 May 2021 and entered into force 20 days after its publication. The changes will apply from 17 December 2022, but may be voluntarily applied before 17 December 2022.
