Meklējiet alternatīvas
Kad ir noteikta vielu prioritāte un dažas no tām atlasītas kā vielas, kuras būtu nepieciešams aizstāt, ir jāmeklē iespējamās alternatīvas. Būtiska ir apjoma noteikšana aizstāšanas projektam, jo šajā posmā tiek noteikts:
a) ieinteresēto personu iesaistes līmenis, ko plānojat uzņemties;
(b) projekta mērķi un principi, un;
(c) lēmuma pieņemšanas kritēriji par to, kuru alternatīvu izvēlēties.
Nosakot apjomu aizstāšanas projektam, jānosaka arī robežas novērtējumam. Tas palīdz koncentrēt resursus un izstrādāt plānu, lai novērtētu alternatīvas, tostarp, lai paredzētu, kādu ietekmi uz veselību, iedarbības ceļus un tehnisko funkcionalitāti/veiktspēju nepieciešams izskatīt.
Vispirms rūpīgi jāapsver, vai tiešām nepieciešama bīstamās vielas sniegtā tehniskā funkcionalitāte un/vai to pašu mērķi var sasniegt citādi. Piemēram, vai tiešām nepieciešams klientiem izsniegt drukātu čeku, kas var saturēt bīstamas tintes attīstītājvielas, vai arī piemērota alternatīva būtu elektronisks čeks? Domājot par iespējamām drošākām alternatīvām, izpētiet savas iespējas plašāk, piemēram, vielas, paņēmienus un produktu dizainu, organizatoriskos vai metodiskos pielāgojumus, ko varētu izmantot.
