New CLH public consultation launched on hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde and bupirimate
ECHA invites the parties concerned to comment on two proposals for harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) of hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde and the pesticide bupirimate. The public consultation will be open for 45 days and will end on 16 August 2013.
In May, Germany notified ECHA of the need to urgently evaluate the substance 1,4-benzenediamine, N,N'-mixed phenyl and tolyl derivatives. On the basis of the favourable opinion of the Member State Committee, ECHA has now added this substance to the Community rolling action plan (CoRAP).
Pre-registration phase for Croatian companies started on
1 July
From 1 July, the REACH and Classification, Labelling and Packaging Regulations also apply to companies established in Croatia. Croatian manufacturers, importers and producers of articles have a special pre-registration period for their phase-in (existing) substances. This period started on 1 July 2013 and lasts for six months ending on 1 January 2014. Pre-registration is required for Croatian companies to benefit from the extended registration deadlines of 2014 and 2018 foreseen for phase-in substances.
The CLP Regulation requires companies to submit a notification on their CLP classification to the Classification and Labelling inventory one month after a substance has been placed on the market. The one-month period is calculated from the date a substance is placed on the EU market. Companies established in Croatia are now required to submit a classification and labelling notification within one month of placing their chemicals on the market. In practice, this means that all substances on the Croatian market on the date of accession to the EU need to be notified by 1 August 2013.
