You are an importer if:
- you buy a chemical product directly from a supplier based outside the EEA and bring it into the EEA territory.
You are not an importer if:
- your non-EEA supplier has appointed an EEA-based only representative to register the substance – then you are a downstream user.
What you have to do depends on the type of product you import (substances, mixtures or articles). Read more about this on the Getting started page for importers.
