August issue of the ECHA Newsletter published

The August issue of the ECHA Newsletter is now online. In this issue, we cover, among other topics, the 2015 classification and labelling deadline for mixtures, pre-submission for biocides Union authorisation, the launch of the new ePIC tool and the new partners service for authorisation applicants. You can also read interviews about building consumer awareness on the safe use of chemicals, challenges of global chemicals management and how a small company uses REACH to build brand reputation.

ECHA publishes data-sharing dispute decisions

ECHA has published all 27 data sharing dispute decisions which have been issued under REACH and the BPR to date. This is part of the Agency's commitment to transparency and serves to give industry, decision-makers and the interested public a better understanding of its reasoning in these cases. It is also thought that it will help to guide SMEs that find themselves in data sharing negotiations in the run-up to the 2018 registration deadline.

CLP 2015 deadline - new campaign materials available

On its dedicated CLP 2015 web section, ECHA has published new campaign materials which are free to download and use in a universal PDF format. This format can easily be converted using any graphics program. Once converted, you can add your logo and/or any other specific one-call information you may wish to add. Please help to raise awareness of the 2015 deadline.

Final reminder for PIC exporters

PIC exporters need to take action now, to make sure that their data (export notifications, special Reference Identification Number (RIN) requests and details on mixtures and articles) is migrated from EDEXIM to the new submission system, ePIC. The "ownership" of the data must be digitally assigned to each company using a unique identifier that is recognised by both systems. This Legal Entity Universal Unique Identifier (LE UUID) can be obtained from REACH-IT. Please log into EDEXIM, where you will find detailed instructions, and provide your LE UUID no later than 22 August 2014. If the deadline is missed, the data cannot be migrated.
