ECHA launches a survey to improve its dissemination portal - your feedback is needed!

ECHA is currently investigating ways of restructuring the presentation of the information displayed in the dissemination portal - including the registered substances database and the classification and labelling inventory - in order to reach an even broader audience and at the same time implement a more targeted approach to the needs of all its user groups. The portal's user groups vary from EU Member States and European authorities to industry specialists and from environmental NGOs to workers and members of the general public. Your input is crucial for making ECHA aware of your specific needs and determining the way forward for improving the readability and user friendliness of the dissemination of information online. The survey will be available until 21 December and will take around 20 minutes of your time. If you have any questions, or would like to know more about the purpose of the survey, please contact ECHA at dissemination@echa.europa.eu.

07 December 2012

The ECHA Committee for Socio-economic Analysis (SEAC) has concluded that it has no basis to support the Danish proposal to further restrict four already classified phthalates (DEHP, DBP, BBP, and DIBP). SEAC's opinion is based on the June Committee for Risk Assessment opinion (RAC) which said that the available data does not indicate a current risk from combined exposure to the four phthalates. The SEAC opinion therefore confirms its draft opinion of June 2012.
