Factsheets

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) is dedicated to ensuring transparency by applying Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 (the “ATD Regulation”) regarding public access to documents.

The factsheets look at the main data related to the processing of access to documents in the Agency per year.

In accordance with its Code of Good administrative behaviour, ECHA complies with good administrative practices when handling requests for access to documents.

By guaranteeing the widest possible access to documents, ECHA also ensures that personal data and commercial interests of data owners (usually industry) are protected, according to the ATD Regulation. Taking into consideration the principle of transparency, ECHA duly balances the interests of the parties concerned.

To help interested parties to submit a request, there is a document request form on ECHA’s website.
