National Inspectorates - Croatia

Competent authority for REACH and CLP is the Department for chemicals and biocidal products at the Ministry of Health. The responsibility for enforcement of REACH and CLP in Croatia is placed within State inspectorate. The enforcement of REACH and CLP in Croatia is implemented under the Act of Chemicals and Implementation acts on REACH and CLP.

Authorities responsible for REACH enforcement

  • Sanitary inspection of State inspectorate carries out inspection of producers and importers of substances and mixture and downstream users of substances and mixtures.
  • The Labour inspection of State inspectorate controls provisions regarding information to workers.
  • The Croatian REACH Helpdesk is under Department for chemicals and biocidal products at the Ministry of Health.

Authorities responsible for CLP enforcement

  • Sanitary inspection of State inspectorate carries out inspection of classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures by primarily suppliers placing substances and mixtures on the market.
  • The Croatian CLP Helpdesk is under National institute for public health.

Authorities responsible for BPR enforcement

Competent authority for BPR in Croatia is the Department for chemicals and biocidal products at the Ministry of Health. The responsibility for BPR enforcement in Croatia is also placed within sanitary inspection of State inspectorate. Sanitary inspectors from State inspectorate check compliance with BPR for all product types of biocidal products and also for treated articles.

The responsibility for POP and PIC enforcement is placed within the State inspectorate.
