Information on future regulation of substances easier to find
ECHA/NR/18/10
The Registry of Intentions (RoI), which contains information on substances intended for harmonised classification and labelling (CLH), identification as substances of very high concern (SVHCs) or restriction, has been restructured. This change will make it easier for users to find information on the possible future regulation for these substances.
Helsinki, 28 February 2018 – The aim of the RoI is to make interested parties aware for which substances a CLH, SVHC or restriction dossier is planned to be submitted to ECHA and when the dossier is expected to arrive. This gives them time to prepare for commenting later in the respective process.
Whereas previously the RoI listed substances according to their dossier status – i.e. intention received, dossier submitted, or intention or submission withdrawn – under each regulatory process, substance information is now presented in three lists based on regulatory process (CLH, identification as SVHC, restriction). By referring to the newly added ‘Status’ field, the user will be able to track what stage the substance is at for a given process.
In addition, the status information on CLH dossiers has been expanded to cover all the steps of the regulatory process, from submission of the intention to publication of the substance in the table of harmonised entries (Annex VI to CLP). The CLH information also includes opinions adopted by the Committee for Risk Assessment (RAC). A similar expansion is foreseen for the SVHC and restrictions list entries in the near future.
