Rekommendationer från den vetenskapliga kommittén för yrkeshygieniska gränsvärden för kemiska agens
Den vetenskapliga kommittén för yrkeshygieniska gränsvärden för kemiska agens (SCOEL) inrättades av Europeiska kommissionen 1995. Syftet var att utvärdera de potentiella hälsoeffekterna av exponering för farliga kemikalier i arbetet, på grundval av aktuella vetenskapliga uppgifter som fanns till hands. Ämnen som ingår i denna databas utvärderades av kommittén fram till 2018, då dess mandat löpte ut.
De hälsobaserade vetenskapliga rekommendationerna har använts för att fastställa gränsvärden för yrkesmässig exponering för att skydda arbetstagare mot kemiska risker, i enlighet med direktivet om kemiska agenser och direktivet om carcinogener och mutagener. Det sistnämnda direktivet ersattes senare med direktivet om carcinogener, mutagena ämnen och reproduktionstoxiska ämnen (2004/37/EG).
Databasen, som tidigare offentliggjordes på kommitténs webbplats, innehåller en förteckning över ämnen för vilka kommittén har utfärdat rekommendationer och yttranden kopplade till toxikologiska bedömningar av ämnen som påverkar arbetstagarnas hälsa.

De ämnesidentitetsbeteckningar som visas i tabellen kommer från Echas kemikaliedatabas:
- Ämnets namn
- EG-nummer/nummer i förteckningen (Europeiska gemenskapens nummer/nummer i förteckningen som tilldelats av Echa)
- CAS-nr (dvs. registreringsnummer som tilldelats av Chemical Abstract Service [CAS])
För varje ämne innehåller tabellen även det specifika SCOEL-namnet (inom parentes om det skiljer sig från Echas), SCOEL-dokumentnumret, det år då rekommendationen antogs eller reviderades och rekommendationen som pdf.
