ECHA's Stakeholders' Day - new speakers announced The Eighth Stakeholders' Day conference takes place in Helsinki on 26 March. It focuses specifically on SMEs, in particular member registrants, who are preparing for the 2013 REACH registration deadline. Newly confirmed guest speakers at the event will present the chemical safety assessment and Chesar for member registrants; practical tips for substance evaluation; how industry can cooperate in making an application for authorisation as well as a view from NGOs on their role in applications for authorisation.
As a new feature, participants will be able to bring their laptop to receive hands-on advice regarding their registration. Further information and booking slots for this service is available in the event registration. The deadline for registering is Tuesday 5 March. Participation is free of charge. |

The webinar gave feedback and tips to registrants on how to submit information on chemicals in the technical dossier to ECHA in compliance with REACH. It took place on Monday 28 January 2013. Working with European trade unions to promote worker safety and awareness of REACH extended safety data sheets
The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) and union federation IndustriAll are extending their REACH information campaign for workers. In cooperation with ECHA and the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) the campaign promotes understanding of the REACH exposure scenarios and steps for companies to take to ensure the safe use of hazardous substances.

The workshop takes place from 7 to 8 May 2013 in Helsinki. It aims to bring together experts in the field of sediment risk assessment to brainstorm and develop updated scientific principles for assessing the ecological risks of chemical substances for freshwater and marine sediments.
