The ECHA Management Board elects a Chair and Deputy Chair

Nina Cromnier has been re-elected as Chair and Karel Blaha has been elected as the new Deputy Chair of the ECHA Management Board.
Helsinki, 28 September 2014 – Ms Nina Cromnier was reelected for a second term as the Chair of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) Management Board. Nina Cromnier, Swedish representative to the Management Board and Director General of the Swedish Chemicals Agency, has been serving as Chair of the ECHA Management Board since 1 October 2012. Her second term of office will start on 1 October 2014 for a period of two years. Ms Cromnier stated that "It's an honour and a pleasure to have the continued confidence of the Management Board".
On the same day, Mr Karel Blaha, the Czech representative to the Management Board, was elected as the Deputy Chair for a first term of office staring from 25 September for a period of two years, renewable once. Karel Blaha has been a member of the Management Board since 2007. "I have been in the REACH business since the very beginning," he says and continues, "I believe I can contribute to the successful work of the Management Board".
