Technical equivalence checks for propan-1-ol and propan-2-ol
On 1 May 2021, we will discontinue the accelerated procedure for technical equivalence applications concerning propan-1-ol and propan-2-ol. Applications concerning these substances will be treated in the same way as other applications.
We sped up our processing of technical equivalence applications for these two active substances in March 2020 to ensure an adequate supply of disinfectants on the European market. With the supply of disinfectants now stabilised, the accelerated procedure is no longer necessary.
If you are preparing an application and still want to benefit from the accelerated procedure, contact ECHA's Helpdesk immediately.

After the submission later this spring, the POPs Review Committee will discuss the proposal next autumn.
The Council Decision was published in the Official Journal on 13 April 2021.
