Im SCIP-Format werden die Informationen zu Erzeugnissen strukturiert, die Stoffe der Kandidatenliste in einer Konzentration von mehr als 0,1 % Massenanteil (w/w) enthalten und der ECHA zu melden sind.

Das Format beruht auf XML und wurde unter Beachtung des Wortlauts von Artikel 9 Absatz 1 Buchstabe i der Abfallrahmenrichtlinie, von Artikel 33 Absatz 1 der REACH-Verordnung, des „Non-paper on the implementation of Articles 9(1)(i) and 9(2) of the revised Waste Framework Directive 2008/98/EC“ der Kommission und der ECHA-Leitlinien zu Anforderungen an Stoffe in Erzeugnissen festgelegt.

Das SCIP-Format ist mit IUCLID kompatibel, einem Tool, das von der ECHA in Zusammenarbeit mit der OECD zur Förderung der Harmonisierung chemischer Informationen entwickelt wurde. Weitere Informationen zu diesem Tool finden Sie auf der IUCLID-Website.
