A residue analysis study conducted on polymers prepared from MTF concluded that the residual amount of MTF present was below the analytical Limit of Quantitation (LoQ) of 3 ppm - refer to the report attached in section 13 (Monomer residue analysis) for further details. On this basis it is considered that no significant human exposure to MTF will arise from the use of polymers prepared using MTF.

The substance is only present within the European Union as a monomer in a polymer. It is manufactured and fully reacted outside of the EU, and only the polymer is used within the EU. On the basis that the discreet substance itself will not be directly imported into the EU it is considered that it does not present a hazard to consumers.
