Kannanottopyyntöjen kautta osapuolet voivat ilmaista kiinnostuksensa sekä näkemyksensä ja huolensa aineen tai kemiallisen tekijän työperäisen altistuksen raja-arvoja koskevan tieteellisen raportin laatimisen varhaisessa vaiheessa.
Kannanottopyyntö täydentää kuulemista työperäisen altistuksen raja-arvoja koskevasta kemikaaliviraston tieteellisestä raportista, jonka tarkoitus on tukea työperäisen altistumisen raja-arvojen määrittämistä työpaikoilla. Kannanottopyyntö ei korvaa kuulemista.
