3 Wastes listed in List B of Annex V Part 1 or which are among the non-hazardous waste listed in Annex V Part 2 (i.e. wastes not marked with an asterisk) are covered by the export prohibition if they are contaminated by other materials to an extent which (a) increases the risks associated with the waste sufficiently to render it appropriate for submission to the procedure of prior written notification and consent, when taking into account the hazardous characteristics listed in Annex III to Directive 91/689/EEC; or (b) prevents the recovery of the waste in an environmentally sound manner.

note14 About fluorinated polymer wastes: Post-consumer wastes are excluded

note22 Regardless of whether or not wastes are included on this list (Annex III or IIIB), they may not be subject to the general information requirements laid down in Article 18 if they are contaminated by other materials to an extent which (a) increases the risks associated with the wastes sufficiently to render them appropriate for submission to the procedure of prior written notification and consent, when taking into account the hazardous characteristics listed in Annex III to Directive 91/689/EEC; or (b) prevents the recovery of the wastes in an environmentally sound manner.

note30 In relation to 'almost free from contamination and other types of wastes', international and national specifications may offer a point of reference.

note33 For waste shipped within the Union, Basel entry B3011 does not apply and the entry EU3011 applies instead.
