Description of key information

Sodium lactate fully dissociates into Na+ ions and lactate. The ecotoxicology of sodium lactate can be understood in terms of the ecotoxicology of lactic acid. molar ratio to convert from lactic acid by weight to sodium lactate by weight is 1.24.
The acute toxicity of lactic acid to Daphnia magna is 130 mg/L active substance (measured). This corresponds to 162 mg/L sodium lactate.
