Additional information

For the assessment of the toxicity of OPP (CAS-No. 90-43-7) on aquatic invertebrates two Guideline studies are available.

In the key study individuals of Daphnia magna were exposed to six concentrations of OPP, in a static test system for 48 h according to an ASTM Guideline (Standard E729-80). The LC50 value after 48 h was determined to be 2.7 mg a.i./L (nominal) (Dill et al., 1985).

Another test with Daphnia magna and OPP was performed by Kuehn et al. (1988) according to DIN 38412, Part II. However due to some deviations from the guideline and deficiencies found in the report documentation (e.g. purity of test substance is not specified, insufficient description of test conditions, tested a.i. concentrations were not reported) the results should be used as additional information only.
