Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The information requirements relating to sediment toxicity testing are waived on the basis of Column 2 (Annex X) guidance stating that such testing shall be proposed if results of the chemical safety assessment indicate PEC/PNEC > 1 using the EPM method. Furthermore, ECHA Chapter R7b Guidance (2008) indicates that substances which do not adsorb strongly to particles (i.e., log Kow > 5, log Koc > 4) are covered by the studies with pelagic organisms.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The substance has log Kow = 4.001, and log Koc = 3.19; and thus strong adsorption to soil and sediment particles is not indicated. Furhtermore, the results of the chemical safety assessment, using the equilibrium partitioning method (EPM) to derive PNECsed, indicate PEC/PNEC < 1.
