CAS number: 92-52-4
The information requirements relating to sediment toxicity testing are waived on the basis of Column 2 (Annex X) guidance stating that such testing shall be proposed if results of the chemical safety assessment indicate PEC/PNEC > 1 using the EPM method. Furthermore, ECHA Chapter R7b Guidance (2008) indicates that substances which do not adsorb strongly to particles (i.e., log Kow > 5, log Koc > 4) are covered by the studies with pelagic organisms.
The substance has log Kow = 4.001, and log Koc = 3.19; and thus strong
adsorption to soil and sediment particles is not indicated. Furhtermore,
the results of the chemical safety assessment, using the equilibrium
partitioning method (EPM) to derive PNECsed, indicate PEC/PNEC < 1.
