on available data, Anthraquinone was absorbed from the gastrointestinal
tract and distributed to tissues. No indication of Anthraquinone
bioaccumulation was apparent in any tissue. The majority of the
radiolabel was eliminated in the feces and the urine. At 96 hours after
dosing, less than 5% of the administered dose remained in major tissues.
Elimination of over 50% of the administered radioactivity was found in
the feces. There seemed to be an extensive hepatic metabolism of
Anthraquinone. Analysis of urine revealed the presence of 11
metabolites, with 1-hydroxyAnthraquinone and 2-hydroxy Anthraquinone
being the major ones.
