National Inspectorates - Denmark

In Denmark the Chemical Inspection Service at the Danish Environmental Protection Agency is the prime enforcement authority of legislation regulating chemicals: the Danish Act on Chemical Substances and Products with statutory orders and EU chemical regulations. Some parts of the regulations are enforced by other authorities.

The Chemical Inspection Service conducts enforcement campaigns every year concerning different chemical substances, products and articles. In addition, the Chemical Inspection Service receives and answers several complaints concerning chemical products from companies, citizens, NGO's and other authorities concerning illegal products.

Authorities responsible for REACH enforcement

• The Chemical Inspection Service - at the Danish Environmental Protection Agency - Responsible for enforcement of registration, authorisation and restrictions.
• The Danish Working Environment Authority - The enforcement authority responsible for checking obligations related to the flow of information in the supply chain, downstream users and some restrictions.
• The Danish Maritime Authority - The enforcement authority responsible for checking obligations related to the flow of information in the supply chain and downstream users on ships
