Public consultations launched for applications for authorisation
A public consultation has been launched on 29 applications for authorisation covering 47 uses of the following substances:
- Chromium VI compounds
- 1,2-dichloroethane (EDC) (EC 203-458-1; CAS 107-06-2)
- Bis(2-methoxyethyl) ether (Diglyme) (EC 203-924-4; CAS 111-96-6)
- Formaldehyde, oligomeric reaction products with aniline (Technical MDA) (EC 500-036-1; CAS 25214-70-4).
More information about the uses that authorisation is applied for, including the description of the function of the substance, exposure scenarios, possible alternatives identified by the applicants, together with socio-economic information, is available on ECHA's website.
Comments can be submitted using a form on ECHA's website until 22 June 2016 (23:59 Helsinki time).

New version of IUCLID coming this Friday
An update of IUCLID, used for creating REACH and CLP dossiers, will be published on 29 April. Updated user manuals and IUCLID plug-ins will be available at the same time.

Chesar release postponed
The update of Chesar will unfortunately not be released as initially planned on 29 April. We have decided to continue testing to ensure stability and compatibility of the tool with the new version of IUCLID. A new release date will be announced soon. We apologise for any inconvenience.
New Q&As on restrictions
ECHA, in collaboration with the Commission, has prepared eight new or amended Q&As on restriction entries 16-17, 18a, 23, 40, 43, 46, 51-52 of Annex XVII to REACH. The Q&As aim to inform the stakeholders and help the enforcement authorities implement these specific restriction provisions.

Substitution of hazardous chemicals survey – last chance to respond
ECHA invites industries and consultants to respond to a survey aiming to better understand the current capacity of companies to substitute hazardous chemicals and to help determine capacity building needs. This survey is made in collaboration with the European Commission's DG Environment, University of Massachusetts Lowell and Risk & Policy Analysts Ltd.
Respond by 29 April 2016.

New intentions for harmonised classification and labelling
Three new CLH dossiers were submitted:
- 1,4-dioxane (EC 204-661-8; CAS 123-91-1)
- ipconazole (ISO); 2-(4-chlorobenzyl)-5-isopropyl-1-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-ylmethyl)cyclopentanol (CAS 125225-28-7)
- dibutylbis(pentane-2,4-dionato-O,O')tin (EC 245-152-0; CAS 22673-19-4).
