Conclusion on classification

According to Annex VI of Directive 67/548/EEC, there is no environmental classification for epichlorohydrin. The acute toxicity to daphnids, fish, and algae are between 10 and 100 mg/L. In addition, epichlorohydrin has a low Kow and is not expected to bioaccumulate. Based on the assessment of The Japanese Institute of Technology and Evaluation, epichlorohydrin is readily biodegradable. Thus, environmental classification of epichlorohydrin for acute or chronic aquatic hazards is not indicated.
