Description of key information

Rate constant with hydroxyl radicals: 0.44 * 10^-12 cm3/(molecule*sec)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Half-life in air:
36 d

Additional information

A rate constant with hydroxyl radicals of 0.44 * 10^-12 cm3/(molecule*sec) was derived for Epichlorohydrin at 298 °K. With a seasonally and diurnally 24 hour averaged hydroxyl radical concentration of 0.5*10^6 molecules/cm3 the half-life in the atmosphere can be estimated to be 36.5 days.
