Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

It is proposed to waive this endpoint. Due to the already demonstrated high toxicity of the material in many other species, exposure of soil macroorganisms to TEL would result in their death. Hydrolysis and degradation endpoints also indicate the substance rapidly dissociates in the aquatic environment and soil through mainly chemical but also biological degradation, degrading rapidily to inorganic lead. As such long term exposure is unlikely. Therefore is test is waivered for two reasons;. TEL's high acute toxicity and exposure being unlikely.
