Additional information

Perfluoromethyl vinyl ether (PMVE) is a colourless odourless gas which melts at -155.15°C (Yaws, Carl L. ©2010 Knovel) and boils at -26°C (Yaws, Carl L. ©2010 Knovel).

The relative density was estimated to be 5.733 at 20°C, the estimated Log Kow: 1.42 (KOWWIN v1.67a, EPISUITE v4.00).

The water solubility, evaluated in a closed system and with the atmosphere saturated with the gas, is 31.5 mg/L at 28°C (Oriani et al., 2001).

The auto-ignition temperature of PMVE is 180°C at 1 atm, its flash point is -130°C at 1 atm it is an extremely flammable gas having a flammable range in air in percent by volume of 7% - 73% (Solvay Specialy Polymers, 2012).
