Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) was used to determine the melting point of different lots of the commercial product. DSC is a commonly used laboratory method. The principal equipment used is a TA Instruments Model 2910 DSC with its standard DSC cell and Thermal Analyst 5000 PC controller or equivalent with a Gas Flowmeter, such as Sierra Instruments Model A-2960.
