In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex IX, Bioaccumulation in Aquatic Species (required in section 9.3.2) does not need to be conducted as the log Kow is <3 and the chemical safety assessment concludes that the substance is of no immediate concern to the environment. The available data are adequate for classification and labelling purposes and PBT assessment, so no further testing is required. Also direct and indirect exposure of the aquatic compartment is unlikely. The EPISuite BCFBAF Program (v3.00) predicts the BCF in fish of 1-bromopropane to be 11.29 L/kg wwt (Log BCF 1.053). EUSES (v2.1) predicts the BCF for fish and aquatic biota to be 12.2 L/kg wwt. The substance is unlikely to bioaccumulate in aquatic species.
