1,4-dichlorobut-2-ene is a liquid and therefore the flammability is deduced from the flash point. Based on chemical structure, pyrophoricity and flammability in contact with water are not expected. Flash point (closed cup): 59 °C (see record 4.11, 2, Schacke (Bayer), 1986, IUC4).
Justification for classification or non-classification
According to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) 1,4-dichlorobut-2-ene has to be classified as flammable liquid of Cat. 3 (flash point >= 23 °C and =< 60 °C).
