Description of key information
Based on the log Kow (0.31) Ethyl (S)-lactate is not expected to bioconcentrate. As Ethyl (S)-lactate is neither surface active nor significantly ionizable, and other mechanisms driving bioaccumulation could not be identified, its bioaccumulation potential is solely based on the log Kow and thus regarded as low. Furthermore, the substance is readily biodegradable and highly water soluble.Key value for chemical safety assessment
