Description of key information

The isothermal TGA effusion method was applied for the determination of the vapour pressure of ethyl-(S)-2-hydroxypropionate. The vapour pressure of the test substance at 20 °C (293 K) was 510 Pa or 3.9 mm Hg, and at 25 °C (298 K) it was 870 Pa or 6.5 mm Hg, respectively.

The vapour pressure of the test substance ethyl-(S)-2-hydroxypropionate was determined by the isothermal thermogravimetric effusion method (TGA). The test item was placed in an oven and consequently stepwise isothermal heated. The weight-loss of the test item was measured and the vapour pressure determined by comparison with reference substances. Each reference substance and the test item were measured in duplicate by TGA.
