Additional information

One study evaluating the potential for hydrolysis of 2 -methyl-N-(4 -sulfamoylphenyl) prop-2-enamide (SPM-N) is available (Brekelmans, 2008a). This test was conducted according to EU Method C.7, under GLP conditions. The test substance was incubated at 1.99 mg/L with three buffered solutions at pH 4, pH 7 and pH 9 respectively, at 50 °C for a period of 5 days. The results from this preliminary study showed that less than 10% hydrolysis took place under all pH conditions, indicating that the half-life of SPM-N in water will be more than 1 year. Therefore, according to Directive 92/69/EEC, further testing regarding this endpoint is not deemed necessary. In conclusion, SPM-N is not hydrolytically unstable.
