Additional information

2 -methyl-N-(4 -sulfamoylphenyl) prop-2 -enamide (SPM-N) is a non-volatile substance (vapour pressure value < 1.33 x 10-8 Pa at 20 °C) and as such accumulation and transport through the atmosphere and deposition to other environmental compartments is not expected. SPM-N did not show significant biodegradation in the ready biodegradability test (1% after 28 days). Furthermore, once released into the water, hydrolysis is not expected to be a relevant degradation process based on half-lives > 1 year at pH 4, 7 and 9. The log Pow value for this substance (0.6) indicates that SPM-N has no potential for bioaccumulation in biota. Considering the low potential for volatilization of SPM-N, the water solubility value of 30.3 mg/L and an experimental log Koc of 1.71 (showing low adsorption potential), the substance will be mainly distributed in the aquatic compartment if released into the environment.
