Description of key information

Short-term toxicity to fish:

Two studies conducted to GLP and compliant with the OECD 203 guideline. Results showed that under the conditions of both tests, the 96 h-LL50 > 100 mg/L loading rate WAF, with one of the studies showing a 96h-LL50 and 96h-LL0 >102 mg/L based on the nominal loading rate.

Long-term toxicity to fish:

14 Day Fish Toxicity Study

The study was conducted in accordance with GLP and the OECD 204 guideline. A limit test was performed at 102 mg/L loading rate WAF; the lowest observed effect loading rate (LOELR) was more than 102 mg/L and the no observed effect loading rate (NOELR) was 102 mg/L loading rate WAF based on nominal loading rates.

Juvenile Growth Test

The study was conducted in accordance with GLP and the OECD 215 guideline. One blank control and five test concentrations of 10 mg/L, 18 mg/L, 32 mg/L, 56 mg/L and 100 mg/L loading rate WAFs were prepared. The LOELR was more than 100 mg/L, and the NOELR was 100 mg/L loading rate WAF based on nominal loading rates.

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates:

In a key GLP compliant study conducted in accordance with the OECD 202 guideline reported that the 48-Hour EL50 for the Daphnia Magna exposed to the test substance (WAF preparations) at the limit of water solubility, was greater than 100 mg/l in terms of the initial test substance loading rate. Correspondingly the No Observed effect Loading rate was 100 mg/l loading rate WAF.

Long-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates:

No effects on the parental animals or on the reproduction were observed; these OECD 211 guideline and GLP complied results suggest that the test item has no effect on Daphnia reproduction. The NOEC on the reproduction is more than or equal to the solubility in dilution water. The NOELR was 100 mg/kg, and the LL50 and EL50 were both more than 100 mg/L.

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria:

In a GLP compliant study, conducted in accordance with the OECD 201 guideline reported that the 72h EC50 for the green alga Desmodesmus subspicatus exposed to the test substance (WAF preparations) at the limit of water solubility, was greater than 100 mg/l in terms of the initial test substance loading rate. Correspondingly the No Observed Effect Loading Rate was 100 mg/l loading rate WAF.

Toxicity to microorganisms:

No inhibition of respiration was noted at 10, 100 and 1000 mg EXP0700332/L. As there was no inhibition of respiration at any EXP0700332 concentration, the 3 h EC10/ELr10, EC20/ELr20, EC50/ELr50 and EC80/ELr80 for EXP0700332 to activated sludge respiration was estimated as >1000 mg/L, under test conditions.
