First-aid measures

INHALATION
Stop the exposure immediately. Take (carry) the victim outside to the fresh air, open his/her clothes loose. At the same have the victim inhale Nitramyl (if available) or oxygen, making him do so even if he/she is unconscious, but his/her breathing is strong enough. Take the same steps as in case of accidental swallowing.
In all cases of affection, make sure that the victim stays calm, both physically and emotionally and prevent him/her from getting cold. If possible, administer medicinal oxygen, or employ any other method of artificial respiration, except mouth-to-mouth resuscitation as that presents the risk of the rescuer’s poisoning. If the victim is unconscious or if he/she vomits, make him/her assume the stabilized position on the hip (to prevent the breathing in of vomit). Ensure immediate medical aid.
SKIN CONTACT
Remove the contaminated clothes immediately. Immediately wash the skin with a large amount of water (ideally lukewarm) and with soap. Finally, use an appropriate skin repair cream. Ensure immediate medical aid.
EYE CONTACT
Immediately start rinsing the eyes with a large amount of water (ideally lukewarm) for 15 minutes. Ensure immediate medical aid.
INGESTION
Ingestion is not considered a potential route of exposure.

Fire-fighting measures

All known extinguish agents can be used.
Explosive with air. EDN tents to polymerize under fire conditions. This reaction may be accompanied by explosions. Heavier than air, can accumulate at low places. Can flare through back to the source of ignition even at relatively long distances.
Hazardous products of decomposition hydrogen cyanide, oxides of nitrogen , carbon monoxide.
Protective chemical suit and self-contained breathing apparatus is advised for firefighters.

Accidental release measures

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS, PPE and EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
Ensure adequate PPE (self-contained breathing apparatus) during disposal of the leak. Evacuate area.
ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS
Prevent release to drains, sewerage and watercourse. In case contaminated water gets into drain or watercourse, immediately inform appropriate authorities.
METHODS AND MATERIAL FOR CONTAINMENT AND CLEANING UP
Allow evaporation , monitor concentration up the wind to ensure that no unprotected persons enter or stay in areas with high exposition. Make sure that all EDN evaporated (ice coating disappeared).

Handling and storage

Ensure that the used equipment is adequately earthed. Suck back of water into the container must be prevented. Purge air from system before introducing gas. Do not allow backfeed into the container. Keep away from ignition sources (including static discharges). Make sure that all personnel handling the substance have adequate training in handling and safety procedures in case of accident. Only specially trained and authorized personnel can handle EDN.
Segregate from oxidant gases and other oxidants in store. Keep container below 50°C in a well ventilated place.
