Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Based on the low bioaccumulation potential (logPOW < 0.3) and its ready biodegradability as proven in an OECD 301B test, the adsorption desorption behaiour of hesperidin is considered very low.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Hesperidin has a LogKow <0.3 , is not an ionisable substance, and is not surface active. In addition hesperidin decomposes rapidly in the aquatic environment as demonstrated by its test on ready biodegradability resulting in 80% biodegradation within 28 days. As a result, the substance meets the criteria for waiving as outlined in Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment Chapter R.7a: Endpoint Specific Guidance, R.7.1.15.5. Based on the physicochemical properties of the substance, the substance is expected to have a low potential for adsorption, and thus according to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex VIII, 9.3.1, column 2, the study does not have to be conducted.
