PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Hesperidin has been tested for biodegradability and bioaccumulation potential (logPOW) and has shown not to fulfill the screening criteria for p/vP resp. B/vB criteria. No toxicity to men is known for hesperidin, neither by CMR properties nor by sub-chronic toxicity. Acute aquatic toxicity also is not of concern.

Likely routes of exposure:

Likely routes of exposure are by inhalative route during manufacturing and use as intermediate, as hesperidin usually is handled as a fine brownish powder with a low particle size. In addition the oral route is relevant, as hesperidin is mainly used as pharmaceutical intermediate and food/nutrition supplement.
