In context of phototransformation in air of N-Methylethanolamine no
experimental data are available. An EPIWIN calculation was performed by
Chemservice S.A. in 2010 to predict the half-life in air. This
estimation indicates a rapid degradation of the substance when
potentially entering the atmosphere. It is not expected that
N-Methylethanolamine will accumulate in the air or be transported in the
gaseous phase over long distances. Hence, air won´t be an environmental
compartment of concern for the compound.
For phototransformation in water as well as in soil no information are
available. These types of phototransformation are not expected to
significantly contribute to the fate of N-Methylethanolamine in the
environment studies would be scientifically unjustified.
N-Methylethanolamine is not expected to undergo hydrolysis under
environmental conditions. The substance lacks functional groups where
this process would be relevant.
