Description of key information

The test on the flammability (solid) (EU methode A.10) was not conducted since the test substance is a liquid. The test on the flammabillity in contact with water (EU method A.12) and the test on pyrophoric properties of liquids (EU method A.13) were not performed as experience in use indicates that a negative result would be obtained.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The test on the flammability (solid) (Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 method A.10) was not performed as the test item is a liquid. For liquids the primary value for ease of ignition is the flash point conducted using Method A9 ‘Flash Point Method’ of Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008. The result of the Flash Point test is used to allocate a liquid substance into the appropriate flammability class. In accordance with colum 2 Annex VII Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH), the test on flammability in contact with water andy pyrophoric abilities does not need to be conducted as the substance shows no reaction with water and has no pyrophoric properties. This based on the experience in handling and use.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the molecular structure and experience in handling and use, the substance was not classified and labelled as flammable, flammable in contact with water and pyrophoric according to Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD) and Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP).
