Key result
Auto-ignition temperature:
330 °C
Atm. press.:
>= 980 - <= 986 hPa

As ignition container a narrow Erlenmeyer flask (200 mL) was used. The temperature of the electric oven was controlled using a system form Eurotherm. Single measurements were preformed using amount of 1 -10 drops. The atmospheric pressure varied during the test performance in the range 980 - 986 hPa. First a test was performed for the determination of the ignition temperature. The temperature of the test vessel was increased starting at a temperature of ca. 200 °C in accoordance with the heating power of the oven. At the temperature of 340 °C and with a sample amount of 2 drops the first ignition was observed. Starting from this temperature the lowest value of the main test was found to be at 335 °C. Using a new ignition container for a further test this temperature was confirmed. The lowest value of this confirmation test (repetition) was 340 °C.

The ignition temperature of the test item was determined to be 330 °C.

Auto flammability at room temperature

The test item is not auto flammable at room temperature according to the guideline, since the auto flammability started at higher temperature. Therefore, this test was not performed.

Conclusions:
The temperature for auto flammability of the test item was determined to be at 330 °C (at 980 - 986 hPa).
Executive summary:

The temperature for auto flammability of the test item was assessed in accordance with EU method A.15 and guideline DIN 51794. The ignition temperature was determined to be at 330 °C (at 980 - 986 hPa).

Description of key information
