Description of key information

The substance is a non-flammable inorganic solid, and as a consequence, it cannot be ignited.

The calcium metal ion in calcium difluoride is already present in the highest possible oxidation state. Fluoride cannot be oxidised by oxygen because fluorine is a more electronegative element than oxyen. As a consequence, it is clear that calcium difluoride cannot react with the oxygen in air, and hence, is not combustible.

In addition, based on the experience in handling and storage, the substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days) and hence the classification procedure does not need to be applied.
