Biodegradation in water:
readily biodegradable

Additional information

The biodegradation of the isosorbide diesters (EC No. 700 -073 -5) has been determined according to the Guideline OECD 201B (sturm test) and in compliance with the GLP. The level of biodegradation of the tested substance reached 83 % within a 28 day-period in the test conditions.

The substance Isosorbide di-octanoate (CAS No. 64896-70-4 ) was considered as "readily biodegradable” in the OECD 301B test, on the basis of the results obtained with this test performed on a very similar analogue.
