Description of key information

No Inhibition was observed on the growth of Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata at the maximum soluble tested concentration of 1.2 mg/L after 72 hours of exposure.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
1.2 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
1.2 mg/L

Additional information

The toxicity of the substance Isosorbide di-octanoate (CAS 64896 -70 -4 ) on the growth of the green algae Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata has been evaluated according to the OECD Guideline 201 and in compliance with the GLP.

A limit test was performed under static condition at the concentration of 1.2 mg/L using acetone (0.01 ml/L). This tested concentration was analysed at T0 and more than 80% of the nominal concentration was measured. Moreover the stability of the substance in the test medium was controled during the method validation and the substance was demonstrated stable during 72 hours. The results are expressed as nominal concentration.

No inhibitory effect was observed on the biomass and on the growth rate of the green algae Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata at the tested concentration of 1.2 mg/L and all the validiy criteria are met.

The substance Isosorbide di-octanoate shows a EC50 > 1.2 mg/L and a EC0 ≥ 1.2 mg/L on Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata in the conditions of the test.
