Conclusion on classification

Based on the NOEC value 0.225 mg/l from the 21 day Chronic Daphina Study and Unoxol 3 ,4 Dialdehyde being readily biodegradable, this will lead to chronic aquatic category 3 classification. For the acute aquatic endpoint, the LC50 values are between 10-100 mg/l for all the three trophic levels (26 mg/L [96 -hour LC50 values for carp], 89 mg/L [48 -hour EC50 value forD. magna], and 17 mg/L [72-hour EC50 based on growth rate for S. capricornutum]which results in an acute aquatic category 3 for GHS.

The crude grade material of Unoxol 3 ,4 Dialdehyde contains up to 6% heptane resulting in an classification of chronic aquatic category 2 for the "Crude" as heptane is classified as Acute Aquatic 1 and Chronic Aquatic 1.
