Description of key information

Based on an activated sludge respiration inhibition test, the 30-minute EC50 for Unoxol 3,4-Dialdehyde was determined to be > 100 mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The toxicity of Unoxol 3,4 Dialdehyde was assessed in an activated sludge respiration inhibition test (Klimisch score = 1). Sludge from a municipal sewage treatment plant was used in the test system and the toxicity of Unoxol 3,4 Dialdehyde was investigated after a contact time of 30 minutes. The test substance was handled under nitrogen. A nominal concentration of 100 mg/l was tested in duplicate. No significant inhibition of respiration rate of the sludge was recorded at 100 mg Unoxol 3,4 Dialdehyde per liter. The duplicate measurement confirmed the result of the first measurement. The EC50 of Unoxol 3,4 Dialdehyde exceeded 100 mg/L (based on nominal concentrations).
