UNOXOL(TM) 3 ,4 Dialdehyde and its reaction products are incapable of developing a dangerous amount of (flammable) gas(es) in contact with air, damp air or water.
A12/A13: Test not conducted since experience in use and
structural grounds indicates a negative result would be obtained.
The test substance reacts with oxygen to its
diacid. Both the structures of the original compounds and the reaction
products were taken into account and do not contain groups that might
lead to evolution of highly flammable gases in dangerous quantities when
coming into contact with damp air of water. Furthermore, no metals,
transition metals, boron or silicon are present.
In order to obtain some additional
information, an experiment was performed in which a small amount of test
substance was added to double distilled water (0.5 g150 ml): no
spontaneous ignition took place and no evolution of gas was observed.
This is also valid for UNOXOL(TM) 3,4
Dialdehyde Crude Grade (Heptanes content ca. 6.0 %wt).
