Description of key information

The hydrolytic half-life of vinyl acetate is 17 days at pH 7 and 12 °C, based on the data from this study and on standardisation according to the TGD. Hydrolysis is an important degradation pathway for vinyl acetate.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The review by Mabey & Mill (1978) does not provide any information the methods used, however, the information in this study has been peer reviewed and critically evaluated and so can be considered reliable and suitable for use as the key study for this endpoint.
