Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
No toxic effects up to the limit of water solubility (< 0.05 mg/L) for Brachydanio rerio based on read across (OECD 203)
Key value for chemical safety assessment
Additional information
The hazard assessment is based on the current data available. A study on long-term toxicity to fish (OECD 210) is requested for 1,2,4-Benzenetricarboxylic acid, tri-C9-11-alkyl esters (CAS 94279-36-4) based on the ECHA decision on a compliance check (decision number CCH-D-2114517125-59-01/F). The long-term toxicity study on fish could not be finalised until now due to the reasons explained in the document ‘CRO statement for Aquatic Toxicity Tests (OECD 210, 211 and 201) with EC 304-780-6’ (attached to the Endpoint Summary of IUCLID Section 6.1.2) showing in addition all dates from order to final report scheduled. The finalised study will be submitted later based on ECHA decision number CCH-D-2114517125-59-01/F. The aquatic toxicity will be re-evaluated in the update of this dossier as soon as the final aquatic studies will be available.
As no valid study is available for assessing the acute toxicity to fish of 1,2,4-Benzenetricarboxylic acid, tri-C9-11-alkyl esters (CAS No. 94279-36-4), in accordance to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 Annex XI, 1.5 Grouping of substances, a read-across to the structurally related category member 1,2,4-Benzenetricarboxylic acid, mixed decyl and octyl triesters (CAS No. 90218-76-1) was conducted.
The study with 1,2,4-Benzenetricarboxylic acid, decyl octyl ester (CAS No. 90218-76-1) was performed under semi-static conditions according to GLP and EU method C.1 using Brachydanio rerio as test organism. In this limit test, no mortality was observed and a LC50 (96 h) > 4.1 mg/L (measured, WAF) was determined, which corresponds to the highest water solubility of the substance under test conditions.
Thus, based on the above mentioned results, and due to the structural similarities and a consistent ecotoxicological/environmental fate profile of the substances, it can be concluded that no acute toxicity to fish is expected for 1,2,4-Benzenetricarboxylic acid, tri-C9-11-alkyl esters (CAS No. CAS No. 94279-36-4) to fish is very low.
